Today, no one can dream of a life without a computer. Almost all of the tasks from maintaining offices to paying bills for groceries, shopping and a million other things are all done on the computer with the help of the internet. Can anyone imagine what would happen to the world, if computers seized to exist?
It is an entirely different matter that computers and the internet have still not reached some third world countries like the ones in Africa. However they seem to be ruling most of the people’s lives in the world today. Everyone’s personal as well as business database is on the computer today, and plenty of information would be lost if all the computers in the world crashed and never recovered.
This would be a nightmare for millions of individuals, as their lives are ruled by computers. No one seems to be taking effort to deal with life without computers, which is the scariest though ever. It reflects on the weakness of mankind, and the dependence that we have on the network of computers in the world.
If a little effort is taken, back up of all the information can be stored in case there will be a loss of computers throughout the world.

America and Iraq

The American Army invaded Iraq in 2003. Since the day it happened, there has been a lot of speculation about whether George Bush did the right thing or not. He not only received a lot of flak from political critics the world over, he was also faced by the wrath of many American citizens in the last five years. He was reelected during the war as President of the United States, thereby making him keep the troops in Iraq.
Almost a trillion dollars have been spent on this war, and America has been draining its economy ever since. The bloody situation in Iraq is only adding fuel to the fire, with various instances of American soldiers torturing Iraqi prisoners. This is probably the result of the pressure the soldiers are in. One thing is for sure. If America had not invaded Iraq, there would have been shortage of oil throughout the world.
It would be using bicycles to travel. Is this what the world wants? Imagine how difficult it would be for a government to take such an important decision in world politics. Nothing has been done to harm the world in any way, and all we need to do is look at the positive aspects of what really happened.

Ways I keep my toddlers off my dinning table

One of their favorite spot to hang around is our dining table. It is so because there is a huge light hanging on top which spins when pressed and gives them a Tarzan like turn.
One day when I was working, I found the solution to our entire toddler problem. The magical words were Tie down straps . Yes, the same tie down straps which is used as a cord to hook kids on both the ends.
My Tie down straps is a hook which hooks the chairs on opposite sides of the table and pulls them tight together. Now the boys cannot pull out the chairs to make their ascent. The ratchets are easy to disengage so we can still use the table for meals. I’m sure anyone who visited our house thought we were insane, but in truth locking down the chairs returned some of our sanity because we didn’t have to worry about one of the kids taking a header onto the hardwood floor.

Repairing DVDs

Repairing DVDs is usually an easy task. The DVD is divided into 3 layers viz. the lower plastic layer, the layer that stores data and the label forms the topmost layer. Most of the problems with the DVD occur due to scratches on the lower plastic surface. Such scratches can easily be removed. However, sometimes, scratches may appear on the upper surface of the DVD. These lead to the loss of actual data and cannot be repaired.
The scratches that are shallow in nature usually do not affect the readability of the DVD. If you are having problems with such shallow scratches, then you should try cleaning the DVD with a soft and clean cloth before you attempt any repairs. This will help in removing any dust or other sediments that may have accumulated on the surface. You should remember that rubbing the surface vigorously may result in the formation of scratches on the surface due to dust particles.
If the above procedure does not work, then you can fill the scratches with the solution that is available, or you polish the surface surrounding the scratch to make it even. The latter is a more lasting solution however, such polishing should be carried out with care as; it may lead to additional damage to the DVD.
